The Encounter : Stop Motion (2022)

An amorphous fluffball and a sticky note meet each other for the first time! What will happen between these two?

A stop motion animation that Sarah completed for my animation class for Smith College (class taken at Univ. of Massachusetts, Amherst). This animation was completed in 4 hours using Dragonframe. Editing done in Premiere Pro.

Narrative:

The fluffball in the beginning is simply rocking back and forth minding it's own business when a stickynote comes rolling up and bumps against the fluffball. The fluffball gets surprised and scared so it curls into itself. The stickynote unrolls itself and taps the fluffball to get its attention. The fluffball uncurls from itself and the stickynote then transforms itself into a different form; which is akin to the fluff’s form, albeit much skinnier. The stickynote offers it's arms for a hug and the fluffball accepts as it joins the stickynote and curls into itself, enjoying the hug.
